About the event

I plan to be located near one of the "amphitheatre" areas depending on which is available; both are located by the back parking lot near the bathrooms. You can arrive any time you like. It's a Sunday, so parking might be easier earlier than later. I teach at noon so I will  be leaving by 11:15 am. You can stay longer, of course! There is lots  to explore there and beautiful hiking trails.

PARKING:

  • LOT  PARKING is $12 if you park on the grounds of the park. You pay at the  machine and place the ticket in your car. The ranger LOVES to give  tickets (we got one on New Year's Day one year for making a U-Turn ),  SO if you drive onto the grounds follow ALL stop signs - and no rolling  stops and make sure you have the receipt for your paid parking located  properly in the front window of your car.
  • FREE PARKING is  located on the street on Sunset Blvd (on either side of Temescal Blvd)  and also on Temescal Blvd. Palisades High School is located on one corner  and parking is on the street alongside the high school. Read all posted  signs to make sure you are not in an area where there is no parking allowed or any time restrictions. Please use the crosswalks and do not  run (jay walk) across Sunset Blvd (cars go really fast and it's curvy).  If you need to drive onto the grounds to turn around to go park on the  street DO NOT make a U-turn (you can get a ticket if the ranger sees  this - I know from personal experience!), turn left into the first  parking lot and it will circle you back to be able to go back out onto  the street (be sure to make a COMPLETE stop at the stop sign.)

Covid/Pandemic  Precautions: We are outdoors and transmission is extremely unlikely in  this environment according to medical professionals and rates are very  low. I do not require masks, but you may wear one if you like (I don't  see anyone wearing masks at the park even though the webpage says to  wear one - I don't think it has been updated). Just please be aware of  and respect each person's personal comfort with distance, some folks  don't care at all and some do. On my end, I'm fine with hugs (I am fully  vaccinated and boosted for Covid)   PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU OR YOUR LITTLE IS SICK (even if it's a cold) or IF SOMEONE IN YOUR  HOUSEHOLD IS ILL. I will have another Park Day in August or September.

If you are able to make it, I would love to see you. Babies and children are welcome, of course! I  may sometimes get names and identities mixed up - so I plan to have  name tags there. Please help me out if I get befuddled with names - it's  not personal   It all looks different in person vs. a Zoom screen and also when I don't see you with your "class"!    I'll have some cookies (or something) out there, but no drinks - BYOB (bring your own bottle of water).

This even is for families from my Bradley Method classes only :  )
